Filmmaker Academy: Best Buy Free Day for Youth

A fun-filled day, sponsored by Best Buy, for youth to learn about film. Partnering with youth-focused organizations, attendees of TCFF’s Filmmaker Academy Best Buy Free Day will watch movies, discuss them with the filmmakers, and create their own short films.

The 2017 Best Buy Free Day at Twin Cities Film Fest will explore movie making for both kids and parents. We’ll start with brainstorming ideas and storyboarding. Then participants will practice basic camera techniques and shoot footage using provided iPad Pro devices. They’ll finish by creating a short film or movie trailer with iMovie. Kids can bring their own iPad, props, and/or costumes as well (Please no prop weapons).
