To provide a quality educational event in a creative and open atmosphere, where novice and experienced actors can network and learn from leaders in the Twin Cities’ commercial film and stage industries.The Twin Cities Actor Expo is an exciting educational and networking opportunity for local actors. The Expo offers a great variety of seminars with local agents, directors, casting directors and other industry professionals — with topics for novice actors and experienced professionals. As in the past, there will also be many vendors with information on every aspect of the talent business. The event will conclude with a networking happy hour from 4-6pm. Booking On-Camera Work Basic
Grab a coffee and start the Expo with Barbara “Babs” Shelton, Casting Director and Owner of Bab’s Casting, LLC. She will motivate and encourage you during this on-camera audition workshop. Hear how the commercial biz works in this market. Learn basic audition techniques in a “hands-on” environment. There is NO preparation or monologues needed for this.

Raising the Bar: Film Industry Professionalism – Expectations from Agents, Casting Directors, Actors, and Filmmakers
This Panel Discussion offers guidelines regarding professional communication, expectations, and conduct. Filmmakers and actors alike will learn film industry standards on topics ranging from agent interactions to auditions, to on-set etiquette. Panelists provide insight into professional expectancies and provide answers on how to develop and maintain a stellar professional reputation, no matter which side of the camera you are on!

Taking Your Voice Over Career to Another Level
Have you dabbled in the world of Voice Acting? Then join in this workshop to learn the nuts and bolts needed to go further in the Voice Over profession. Panelists will share what is being looked for in the marketplace. They will discuss getting started and managing expectations. Plus, cover how and when you should set up a home studio. The panelists will be professional Voice Actors with real world knowledge and tips to help you grow and succeed in the industry.

The Ins and Outs of Industrial and Commercial Auditions
The Twin Cities is the hub for many National and International corporations including Target Corporation, General Mills, 3M, Best Buy and more. A major component of our thriving on-camera and voice over acting community is fueled by these Industrial and Commercial shoots.
This workshop will provide real world advice from corporate casting professionals about the differences between Industrial or Commercial Auditions versus other auditions. You will learn what to expect when auditioning for these roles, how to prepare for them, and how to give yourself the best shot at booking the gig.

Time Slots Available – Once you register for the TCAE, you’ll receive detailed information about signing up for auditions.
A panel of filmmakers (typically 10-20) will attend the expo and spend the day auditioning actors for projects. This may be for specific projects such as films, webisodes or television pilots. Or filmmakers may simply be taking this opportunity to become more familiar with the acting community in general.
• Actors should have prepared a monologue or two-person scene to perform. TWO MINUTE MAXIMUM. Reminder – these are for on-camera projects. Theater type auditions are less desirable.
• Only one audition per actor – either a scene or monologue. There are no cold reads or scripts available on site.
• All auditions will be recorded & available to the filmmakers for reference. Recorded auditions will not be available to the actors.
• No on-line auditions are accepted.
Agency Meet and Greets
Location: TCFF Office – 1633 West End Blvd., St. Louis Park, MN 55416 – Right next door to the ICON Theatres
Take advantage of this opportunity to meet face to face with Twin Cities Talent Agencies. To participate, actors simple wait in line at the designated time for a quick “meet and greet” with talent agents. Actors should come prepared with printed headshots, resumes and portfolios.
Reminder – this is a quick, informal introduction and doesn’t guarantee follow-up meetings with the agents or representation.
