Raymond J. Christensen Foundation and TCFF’s ‘Make the Cut’ Competition

Synopsis

3 Finalists pitch their documentary projects live, in front of an audience, on Saturday, October 24th at 12 PM at the Edina Mann Theatre.

The winner will be determined through jury and audience voting following the presentations.

Finalists include:
Jay J. Schuster - Cold Blooded Kari: Driven by an obsession with winter and the community she’s found within it, Kari Gibbons transforms herself into an ultra-winter athlete. Now, she sets out to face her ultimate test: 1,000 miles across the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness on foot.

Lauren Neal - Terminal: A women documents the anticipatory grief when father is diagnosed with terminal leukemia: keeping every record for eight months until the records are all that's left.

J.D. O’Brien - Whipple: A documentary connecting the resistance movement of 2026 to the surprising legacy of Henry Benjamin Whipple.

The Raymond J. Christensen Foundation and Twin Cities Film Fest are searching for Minnesota's next great documentary filmmaker. This unique opportunity offers the winner a fully funded post-production grant to finish their film, with a guaranteed screening placement at the 2027 Twin Cities Film Fest.
