AFTER SECURING DISTRIBUTION AT 2017 TWIN CITIES FILM FEST,
TWO LOCAL PREMIERES GO NATIONAL!

June 18, 2018  (St. Louis Park, MN) — The organizers of the Twin Cities Film Fest announced Tuesday that two films showcased last year by the organization have scored national distribution deals. TCFF premieres “Flora,” a historical science-fiction thriller, and “Kid West,” a family-friendly western that screened as part of the TCFF Insider Series, have both been picked up by Mill Creek Entertainment.  The films will be available this summer, both via digital purchase on such platforms as iTunes and Amazon, and via DVD in such national retail chains as Best Buy and Walmart.

“There’s no other film festival in the region that does as much for its artists as TCFF does for its filmmakers,” said TCFF Executive Director Jatin Setia. “Over our existence, we’ve excelled in content exhibition, filmmaker education and have pioneered showcasing Minnesota content alongside nationally recognized films including Studio awards contenders. Giving our independent artists a platform to get their content distributed to a wider audience is the next natural step in TCFF’s growth.  We’re extremely proud to have these two deserving films and respective filmmakers as our first distribution films and we look forward to do a lot more in 2018 and beyond.”

“Flora” producer Teresa Doran credited the festival, and its sophisticated audiences, with helping the film find traction in the distribution market.

“TCFF was really a filmmakers’ film festival,” she said. “To have this beautiful showing with an engaging audience was really truly outstanding and it was the best experience we could have had. Thank you so much for introducing us to Mill Creek Entertainment.”

This year’s Twin Cities Film Fest is scheduled to screen Oct. 17-27 in St. Louis Park with a new slate of films being announced at the TCFF Gala on September 6th.
