Wrecking Party

Synopsis

Wrecking Party follows Kate and Lily over the course of one night, tracking the subtle shifts in their friendship that come about as a result of their differing trajectories at a house party in Brooklyn. The film begins with the two girls on the threshold of a party—literally—each arriving with a different set of expectations and nerves. Kate, steadier and more cautious, has trepidations about entering a world that is perhaps outside the edges of her comfort zone. Lily, impulsive and sometimes a little reckless, is ready to leap. When Lily’s crush appears on the dance floor, she quickly abandons Kate in order to pursue the kind of deep romantic and artistic connection she thinks nourishes her. As a result, Kate is left to navigate the party on her own, and she eventually finds she out a couple of things about herself—and the company of women.
